HRDive: Talent Trends survey uncovers freelance and gig work expected to grow.
The face of employment continues to change as an increasing number of freelance and independent contractors become part of the workforce. This transformation is part of the go-forward strategy for the majority of C-suite and human capital leaders surveyed in Randstad Sourceright’s 2017 Talent Trends research.
Employers estimate that up to one-third of their permanent positions may be converted to contingent roles, better serving their needs for an agile workforce. While this is good news for freelancers who thrive on flexibility, there is a downside when it comes to the benefits of a traditional job.
Randstad Sourceright’s Talent Trends research finds that companies that are ramping up their use of freelance talent believe an integrated talent model will enable them to better navigate the complexities of the contingent labor landscape, while gaining a competitive advantage for attracting and engaging talent.
