human resources director: australia emerges as leader in DEI efforts.
Overall, 90% of Australian business and HR leaders say that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are embedded in their companies’ talent strategies — nine points higher than the global average of 81%.
Further highlighting the importance of DEI for Australian businesses, 78% of leaders in the country report that DEI is extremely important. Also, 68% say their DEI efforts have made a positive impact within their companies.
These are among the key findings of Randstad Enterprise’s 2023 Talent Trends Report, a survey of more than 900 C-suite and HR leaders around the world.
Although leaders in Australia recognize how critical DEI is, the Talent Trends Report also finds that some may be deprioritizing their efforts. Overall, 46% of leaders say DEI will be a lower priority this year.
However, according to Anthea Collier, APAC managing director, RPO & MSP and interim country head of Australia at Randstad Enterprise, companies that actively pursue DEI in their talent infrastructures can access a broader and more diverse talent pool to help overcome talent shortages.
