Sophie Rausch | making work meaningful stories.
Sophie Rausch, Digital Marketing director for Randstad Enterprise Group and Randstad Sourceright
Achieving a healthy work-life balance is my daily challenge. As a working mom with a one-year-old daughter, my days are quite long but very fulfilling. I wake up at 7:00 a.m. and head straight to the coffee machine. A coffee while reading in the morning gives me a delightful bit of “me time” before the morning rush. Then, we share a precious family time before my daughter goes to daycare. As I’m working from home, my work day can now begin.
a work day with Sophie
I’m the Digital Marketing director for the Randstad Enterprise Group and Randstad Sourceright. I’ve been in the group for nine years, five of which have been at Randstad Sourceright. I focus on targeted B2B brand awareness and lead generation to support our business development goals and sales growth.
I work within an amazing team and with inspiring and hard-working colleagues who are based all over the world. My managers trust and empower me while giving me flexibility and support — especially when I became a mum. At Randstad Sourceright, I work in an environment where I don’t need to be afraid to ask for help from my manager.
making space to be your best self
What I love most about my job is that I completely feel aligned to what I'm doing for the company. Since becoming a mum, I’ve noticed that my priorities and interests have shifted somewhat. I have become more people-focused and I am more attentive when it comes to empowering the team. I try to be present in the moment and focus on what I'm doing, whether it's attending a meeting or watching my daughter grow up. I have learned to embrace that I need to quickly switch between multiple activities, but, each time I try to dedicate 100% of myself to the people I'm with. Thank goodness for my journal of to-do lists!
Having personal time for being creative is also important for me. I recently bought a sewing machine and have been sewing clothes and accessories for my family. When times get trying, I call my family or friends to cheer me up and remind myself how blessed I am.
By making time for aspects that matter to me, I’ve developed better balance and have grown more flexible, able to handle what needs to be done and when. This has helped me achieve my best self at home while making work meaningful too.
