a great opportunity for career development
I first heard about Randstad Sourceright from a friend and former colleague whose client had recently selected Randstad for recruitment process outsourcing (RPO).
Soon after that, I was introduced to the managing director of Randstad Sourceright North America, and that initial conversation was the catalyst for pursuing a career with Randstad Sourceright. I did not yet have RPO on my resume, and I recognized that this would be a great step in my career development. In July 2021, I joined the Randstad Sourceright team as a talent development manager.
a dynamic and collaborative environment
Talent acquisition is an industry that is vast, diverse and highly collaborative. That collaboration is what I love most about it. I’m responsible for rebuilding the talent acquisition team for a client that I’ve had previous experience with. I partner with their talent acquisition team to ensure that we have coverage on the assigned requisitions, while also making sure that solution delivery is progressing smoothly.
Working in this dynamic industry always keeps me on my toes. Every day is different, but I like to keep my schedule as organized as possible. I generally start my day with meetings — with my client, one-on-ones with my team or daily check-ins to assess how the new hires are doing. After my meetings, I review my reports to see how we are tracking on requisition delegation and hires for the month. Some days I spend my time building presentations to update the client. And as needed, I spend time troubleshooting challenges with the recruiting process.
I enjoy mentoring my team and building relationships with my clients. I believe the best way to do that is by overcoming challenges and finding solutions together. I’m in awe of the fact that I’m able to learn and contribute to different segments of the talent acquisition industry every day here at Randstad Sourceright.
creating work-life balance
I have eight-year-old triplets (yup, triplets!), so I spend a lot of my time indulging their interests. It becomes a little challenging to pursue your own interests when you have children, and I’ve learned that you have to work a little harder to make time for yourself. Yet, I do find time to try out different restaurants with my husband, and travel when we can.
To attain a healthy work-life balance, it is imperative to be realistic about what’s important and what’s practical to achieve. The answer is individual to you and your priorities. I am very selective about the roles I take on so that I can be with my family most evenings and weekends. And I am very diligent about my calendar, being sure to block time for deliverables.
Randstad Sourceright provides a performance-driven culture, but with realistic, Human Forward expectations. I love being able to work remotely, and on a schedule that fits with my life. Working here allows me the bandwidth to achieve both my personal and professional priorities and goals.
